Mild/Sweet Peppers
Banana, Goddess- Sweet banana pepper that’s great for pickling because of it’s thick walls and mild flavor. Plants are large and produce a large quantity of 9” long peppers.
Corbaci- Our absolute favorite pepper to grow! Small plants that are loaded with delicious, multi colored peppers that are wonderful fresh eaten and roasted.
Jimmy Nardello- One of our favorite peppers! Long, thin-skinned frying pepper that dries easily and has a wonderfully rich flavor. Plants are very prolific and produces many wrinkled peppers that ripen to a deep red color. This fine Italian pepper was grown each year by Giuseppe and Angella Nardiello at their garden in the village of Ruoti, in Southern Italy. In 1887 they set sail with their one-year-old daughter Anna for a new life in the U.S. When they reached these shores, they settled and gardened in Naugatuck, Connecticut, and grew this same pepper that was named for their fourth son, Jimmy. Slow Food Ark of Taste variety.
King of the North- This bell variety thrives in our northern climate and matures to a bright red, glossy fruit. Known for its ability to produce good sized peppers in short, cool seasons.
Shishito- This long loved pepper is finally getting it’s moment in the spotlight! If you only have room to grow one pepper, make it this one. This Japanese variety is delicious and highly productive over a long season setting an abundance of 3-4” long, thin walled pepper with an excellent sweet flavor. Stake plants and harvest often.
Stocky Red Roaster- Red, Italian type pepper with sweet flavor whether eaten raw, roasted, or good. Highly productive plants. The ripe red fruit will hold quality for months once picked if stored in a cool location.
