Beets

Beets

$5.00

(Beta vulgaris)

Size: 6-Pack

Enjoy the diversity of our mixed variety six-pack that includes:

Detroit Dark Red- Deep red beet with dark glossy leaves. This beet has a high sugar content which makes the flavor outstanding and rich. The young leaves are excellent in salads!

Chioggia- An Italian heirloom that hails from the town of Chioggia, near Venice, has been a popular variety since the 1800s. In our opinion, this is the most beautiful of all the beets with concentric rings of white and red! The leaves are smooth and make an excellent substitute for spinach.

Touchstone Gold- Our personal favorite! This golden fleshed beet with orange skin has a sweet flavor and lovely green leaves that are equally delicious. This variety is less “earthy” than traditional red beets.

Planting Information:

Beets can be planted in the garden up to four week before our last frost date (ideally April-June and then again in September for a Fall crop).
